Welcome to the Inca Empire,

Now that you've learned some information about the Mita System, let me further explain on the topic. As you read, the mit'a tax is what got the workers going, meaning that all the hard work they actually did created the most important things that would not even be there if not for those workers. Labor work was more important than machines back then, meaning without it most of the things there wouldn't even exist because most people wouldn't voluntarily work the tough jobs.

One way that this achievement helped the Inca Empire maintain its power is because the Mita people cultivated the farms, so the soldiers knew their family would be well fed and clothed so they would be more concentrated in battle. If you do not understand how this helps maintain power, I will explain. Since the soldier did not have to worry about their family not having the supplies needed, they would be more focused on their task, which is winning against their opponent in battle. This ensures victory and power.
